Biking in Hachenburg and across the Westerwald

Exploring the Westerwald by bike is a special pleasure. Mountain bikers and e-bike riders in particular enjoy the undulating terrain and the varied landscape.

Red-brown shimmering half-timbered houses, rushing rivers, idyllic lakes and wonderful panoramas - the Hachenburger Westerwald cycle route has a lot to offer on 76 km with 1000 m of altitude difference! Whether forested hills, imposing plateaus, wild rushing streams, romantic lakes or extensive fields - hardly any other bike path is so varied!

The route leads through the dreamy baroque town of Hachenburg
Wildly romantic "Kroppacher Switzerland", along the rushing Wied in the "Upper Wiedtal", past the idyllic banks of the "Dreifelder Weiher" and over the "Gräbersberg" known for its lookout tower back to the lion city.

Further circular routes lead through the Hatterter Grund, to the Wied river, along the Nister river and to the neighboring "Stöffelmaus".
